- Puppetry is an ancient artform shared by many cultures around the world.
Each technique has it's own unique history and significance.
- Puppetry techniques help motor-coordination and brain development.
- Puppets are an excellent tool for self expression. Many people feel
comfortable exploring issues, feelings, and ideas through a puppet that
they couldn't by themselves.
- Through puppets we can be who we want to be playing different character,
ages, genders, different animals, and even monsters. Puppetry helps us
imagine what it may be like to be different from ourselves.
- Puppetry requires technical skill, listening, communication, and team work.
Most of all it's fun!
- Puppetry combines visual arts, performing arts, technology and design.

Purple Capsicum Puppets creates original performances, workshops, and
artist-in-residence programs for children, youth and adults. We also collaborate
with government bodies, arts groups, individuals, and schools to develop and
deliver custom made puppets and creative programs.
We believe puppetry is a powerful creative tool for self expression, personal
development, creative learning, and social awareness. Our work focuses on
being hands on, educational, interactive, and most of all fun. We thrive on the
challenges and opportunities each creative project offers ourselves, our
collaborators, and the shared learning these offer.
All our performers & facilitators have current Working With Children Cards.
