Simple Materials, Creativity & Teamwork
Newspaper and sticky tape puppets for three puppeteers ages 8+
The Giant Puppets workshop is about team problem solving,
creativity, and cooperation. In groups of three, participants must
design and construct a giant rod puppet from dowel, newspaper,
sticky tape, crepe paper and stockings.
Participants are asked to name their puppet, and are guided through
basic group manipulation techniques. The participants are given 10
minutes to practice before each puppet / group must complete an
obstacle course of actions. There is no winner, rather the participants
observe each other and give advice & feedback about how they
could work together better to complete the obstacle course.
