Performer Biographies
Beth holds a Masters Degree in
Production (Puppetry) from the
VCA, University of Melbourne, and
is a current member of the UNIMA
Australia Committee. Beth has
worked professionally in the arts
for over 12 years. She has trained
at the Lecoq Physical Theatre
School, and studied puppetry at
Théâtre Aux Mains Nues, under
master-puppeteer Alain Recoing,
in Paris France.  For 3 years Beth
was Artistic Director of Southern
Edge Arts, Western Australia’s
premiere youth arts company. Beth
has worked in Europe, Hong Kong,
New York, and has performed
twice at the UNIMA South Africa
Out the Box International Puppetry
and Visual Theatre Festival. In
2008  Beth performed with Sydney
based Theatre of Image in their
Helpmann Award winning
production of The Happy Prince
that toured across NSW and to the
Victorian Arts Centre.
Michael is the Treasurer of UNIMA
Australia, and has been
performing and teaching puppetry
since 2002. His first job in
puppetry was a two year contract
on a  two-hander puppet show
called Hands On, Hands Up! that
toured throughout New South
Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.
He has extensive experience as a
teacher of puppetry, drama and
music, and has taught for the
prestigious Young Music Society
Summer School for 8 years.
Michael has a BA in acting and a
Post Grad. Diploma in Puppetry
from the Victorian College of the
Arts. He has performed around
Australia and internationally at
festivals including the Woodford
Folk Festival, Adelaide Fringe
Festival, and at the UNIMA
International Congress 2008 in
Perth, WA.
