The Donkey Puppet Head: Bremen Town Musicians
Bremen Town Musicians: German House Puppet
Join the aspiring musicians for storytelling slapstick,
puppet physical theatre and musical mayhem.

We reinterprets this classic fairytale using puppets,
noisemakers, and the physical silliness of two multi-
skilled performers. ‘The Bremen Town Musicians’ is
an engaging and imaginative show for the young
and young at heart.

Suitable for Children K - 6 / 7, and families.
Audience participation is encouraged.
"THIS appealing recreation of the Brothers Grimm fairytale
seamlessly introduces stage characters and animated objects
to children in refreshing and clever ways.

Michael Bevitt plays a donkey who is being ``retired'' by his
mistress, who chases him with a cleaver. He decides he would
rather be a musician in Bremen Town, and heads off on an
adventure that soon gains a similarly minded dog, cat and in
this case, an egg-laying rooster.

Bevitt with Beth McMahon keep all four characters plus narration
alive and endearing in
an ingeniously crafted telling of the tale."

"The minimal sets make for great imagination work
and the children who got up on stage to conduct the
‘audience orchestra’ all had a great time.
A fun show for children and adults alike
."

a clowning & puppetry extravaganza
A performance for young people aged 5-12, A Fish Story encourages
play, imaginative engagement with simple recycled everyday materials,
exploration, appreciation of language, and self-confidence.

The Blank Spot, an underwater storm that wipes out words is both a
comment on the contemporary shift in language towards abbreviations
and SMS speak in youth culture while echoing recent natural disasters
that have affected Australian and International communities. Media
coverage of such events is reflected in the broadcast of Mr. Crust
Ocean a commanding Anchor anchorman, and in the hungry paparazzi
Seagulls who pick and choose the juiciest words to make
their headline nests. Our protagonist Finn is asked to help, and he
must overcome obstacles (his own doubt, and interference) to realise
that even he can make a difference if he believes in himself.
A Fish Story takes us
on an imaginative
journey to meet talking
fish, squabbling
seagulls, and hilarious
hermit crabs.

Finn is a young boy
who loves fish, almost
as much as he loves
words, and rhymes, and
songs. When a huge
storm called the Blank
Spot wipes out all words
from the ocean, Finn
and his best friend
gather all their favourite
words together to
donate to the creatures
of the deep.
When disaster strikes what can a kid do to help?
