While process-based, Puppet TV offers an equally valuable, long-lasting quality outcome.
Puppetry is a powerful communication tool. Through puppetry, participants often express themselves in new ways, finding confidence in
working through a puppet. Puppet TV is an artist-in-residency program where participants design and make a puppet to keep, then collaborate
to create a short film using these puppets.
Simple Materials, Creativity & Teamwork
The Giant Puppets workshop is about team problem
solving, creativity, and cooperation. In groups of
three, participants must design and construct a giant
rod puppet from dowel, newspaper, sticky tape, crepe
paper and stockings.

Participants are asked to name their puppet, and are
guided through basic group manipulation techniques.
The participants practice working together before
completing an obstacle course of actions. There is no
winner, rather the participants observe each other
and give advice & feedback about how they could
better work together.
NO Scissors & NO Glue!
An easy puppet design for children aged 2 - 12.

Lead by two experienced workshop facilitators and
puppeteers, participants make and decorate their own
unique, take-home puppet with instructions and
assistance. Warm up games, puppet manipulation
exercises, and puppetry improvisations keep students
engaged and focused for the duration of the workshop.
